The new Hyatt Place Harrisonburg will be managed by Olympia Hotel Management. The hotel will break ground next month to open in 2020.
The new property will be Harrisonburg’s most modern hotel. The city is home to James Madison University and is a visitor gateway to Shenandoah National Park.
The new property, the first to open in the city in several years, will aid in making Harrisonburg a bigger destination for conventions, concerts and more. The hotel will have 120 rooms, 3,000 square feet of meeting space and 80 seats at the indoor/outdoor panoramic rooftop bar.
“Our track record with Hyatt, our depth in college markets, our experience with rooftop bars, and our best-in-class reputation were all part of their selection rationale. Operating a distinctive select service hotel in a campus community is our favorite kind of work,” said John Schultzel, chief growth officer, Olympia.
Currently, Olympia manages five other Hyatt properties.
