In East London (near Shoreditch and Spitalfields), a new, mid-century modern hotel just opened within a revitalized, 18^th-century former warehouse. Originally a storage facility for East India Tea Company’s raw fabrics and silks, the former warehouse transformed into Sir Devonshire Square, marking the U.K. debut of Sir Hotels.

Debuted this September, Sir Devonshire Square spans 75 accommodations, complete with fitted wood veneer furniture like headboards, desks and hidden vanity mirrors. All guestrooms and suites come equipped with expansive windows, an espresso machine and tea setup, rainfall shower, beds with The Sir Bedding Collection, air conditioning, and Zenology bathroom and spa amenities. Suites also boast a sculptural soaking tub, while the Sir Residence includes lounge and courtyard views.

Sir Devonshire Square’s public spaces include a lobby bar, which serves breakfast bites, pre-dinner and post-work drinks; The Lounge, a dedicated space for a creative concoction; and the shop, where guests and the public can find a handpicked, curated selection of products.

The Lounge also offers freshly baked buns, nourishing bowls and specialty coffee, followed by an all-day dining menu of seasonal plates. The Lounge later evolves into a wine bar, accompanied by DJ sessions, live music performances, art talks, design panels and fashion conversations designed to foster connections between guests and the community.

The new hotel plans to soon debut a restaurant, private member’s club, gym and yoga studio.

Sir Hotels currently has properties in Prague, Austria; Barcelona, Spain; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Berlin, Germany.
