This year, follow the Good Cheer Trail through Nova Scotia and experience the best wineries, craft breweries, brew pubs and distilleries the province has to offer — all while enjoying the gorgeous, rugged coastal scenery. A total of 38 sites are featured on the route, with 14 wineries, 12 craft breweries, five distilleries, five brewpubs and the national historic sites of Port Royal and the Fortress of Louisbourg.
Wineries include Domaine de Grand Pre, Lucketts Vineyards, L’Acadie Vineyards and Eileanan Breagha Vineyards. Sample the wares at Cape Breton Island’s Glenora Distillery, producers of single malt whisky; and Steinhart Distillery in the village of Arisaig, where local wheat from the Maritimes is used in the creation of small batch vodkas and gins, with flavorings such as cranberries, haskap berries and maple syrup.
