The first dedicated Star Alliance lounge at Rome Fiumicino Airport opened June 29. The premium lounge welcomes first- and business-class passengers as well as Star Alliance Gold cardholders. The lounge is located on the upper level of Boarding Zone D in Terminal 3.
Star Alliance lounges reflect the local experience and the new lounge is no different. It features Italian furnishings and culinary offerings, including a staffed bar and barista coffee station.
Business travelers enjoy functional spaces to work, with free WiFi, standard and USB power outlets and private space for phone calls.
“Improving the quality of the services we offer is our primary commitment,” said Ivan Bassato, director of airport management, Aeroporti di Roma. “We have worked alongside Aviapartner and Star Alliance to create an innovative and functional space that speaks for the high standards of quality achieved by Fiumicino. Only a few days ago, the Airports Council International presented our airport with the Best Airport Award 2018, the most important award in our industry. Results of this calibre are only achieved by working with constant commitment and the essential contribution of the main partners that operate daily at the airport, including Star Alliance and Aviapartner. With this new lounge, they have increased and improved the premium offer for passengers in Boarding Area D flying to Europe on short and medium-haul flights.”
The lounge accommodates up to 130 guests and is open daily, 5:15 a.m.–9:15 p.m.
Now, Star Alliance sets its sights on opening another new lounge, this one in Amsterdam (AMS), planned to open early 2019. Other lounges slated for refurbishments include those in Nagoya (NGO) and Paris Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (CDG).
