Norwegian Air will deploy its new Dreamliner aircraft on service between the Norwegian city of Bergen (BGO) and New York (JFK) next spring, offering the first non-stop service between the two cities. The carrier will offer the route once a week from May 9 through Sept. 27. Service will depart New York on Fridays at 9 p.m. and touch down in Bergen at 10:35 a.m. the following day. The return service leaves Bergen on Saturdays at 6:20 p.m. and arrives in New York at 8:05 p.m. “New York to Bergen has been a long-awaited route and I’m very happy to announce that for the first time in decades, the U.S. and Bergen will get its first direct connection,” said Bjorn Kjos, CEO, Norwegian. “Norwegian’s routes between Scandinavia and New York have been very well received, and I am looking forward to welcoming even more Americans on board our brand new Dreamliners on our non-stop service to Bergen.” The airline will also offer new service from London Gatwick (LGW) to New York, Los Angeles (LAX) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) from June.
