As bread is one of Germany’s favorite foods, Lufthansa now offers business-class passengers on long-haul flights from Germany bread developed exclusively for the airline by baker-sommelier and World Baker of the Year 2022 Axel Schmitt. The breads are baked fresh daily from natural ingredients, with no additives, served with homemade butter and high-quality olive oil. Breads will change quarterly.
A signature drink will soon come to Lufthansa’s long-haul business class, the Avionic Apéritif, served alongside water, sparkling wine and nuts before take-off. Created by Ziegler Distillery and Sven Riebel, a Frankfurt bar icon and Mixology – Magazin für Barkultur Host of the Year, the Avionic Apéritif features peach, wild meadow herbs and tonic.
“The entire Lufthansa team is proud to present our new Business Class experience. Our culinary offerings highlight the celebration of German bread culture and the collaboration with traditional brands, such as Ziegler, for the new Lufthansa Aperitif Avionic, underline the timeless elegance of our brand,” said Heiko Reitz, chief commercial officer, Lufthansa. “The other new products that we will soon be introducing in various travel classes are further steps towards our goal of creating a whole new level of excitement for our guests.”

For the first time ever, business-class guests will enjoy a vegetarian amuse-bouche, and fresh fruit will be added to the dessert menu. The new modular snack offer is perfect for those with a smaller appetite or in between main services, and includes snacks, fresh fruit, and fresh salty and sweet treats on longer flights. Beginning in June, every passenger will receive a small box of Lindt chocolates as a farewell gift.

Jul 24, 2024Althoff Grand Hotel Schloss Bensberg Review
After a long drive from our previous destination, it was a relief to see Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg in our view. When we pulled into the hotel court, I felt like we were pulling up to a royal palace. Considering the hotel was originally built as a castle for Prince Elector Johann Wilhelm II of Duesseldorf and his wife, Maria-Luisa of the Medici family, my thought wasn’t that far off.
