Emirates continues to expand its Airbus A380 route network with the addition of its newest destination, Mumbai, following the recent launch of A380 service to Kuwait International Airport. The Gulf carrier offers superjumbo service between Dubai International Airport and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport daily. Emirates’ A380 offers 14 suites and onboard shower spas in first class and 76 lie-flat seats in business class on the upper deck as well as a recently launched Indian menu with regionally themed dishes from across the country.

“In the past 29 years, we have flown over 42 million passengers between India and the U.A.E. and so it is quite fitting that the city becomes our 29th A380 destination,” said Ahmed Khoory, senior vice president of commercial operations for West Asia and the Indian Ocean, Emirates. “Now our customers on the route can experience the luxury, the quietness and the outstanding service onboard an Emirates A380, in addition to the other four daily services we will continue to operate to the city.”

The largest operator in the world of the double-decker aircraft, Emirates currently possesses 50 A380s in its fleet of 224 wide-bodied aircraft.

What Maui Visitors Need to Know

There’s a lot happening on the beautiful island of Maui and recovery from the devastating fires in Lahaina is underway. Among happy events is a gorgeous cultural redesign of all the suites and villas at Fairmont Kea Lani, plus the opening of the resort’s Hale Kukuna — a 2,000-square-foot cultural center that focuses on sharing Hawai’ian culture, traditions and history, with the goal of a reciprocal sharing of ‘ike (knowledge) and mo’olelo (stories) that link the island’s storied past and vibrant present.

Explore Portugal on a Wine Tasting Tour with a Touch of History

All it takes is one glance at the grounds of Quinta Dona Maria, which includes a grand villa and surrounding gardens, to realize wine tasting in Portugal comes with a good dose of history. The vineyard is located in Estremoz, just northeast of the first-century Roman ruins found in Evora. In 1718 King João V built this estate for his lover, Dona Maria. When she died, the current owner’s ancestors purchased the land and have been making wine ever since. Taste the wine, which is terrific, especially the full-bodied red Dona Maria Grand Reserve. Then venture inside a building that stores large amphora vases, including one dating back to the 1200s.
