Viceroy Hotel Group announced the opening of Viceroy Chicago Sept. 1 — the brand’s first property in the Midwest.

The modern, 180-room luxury hotel is located on the site of the former historic Cedar Hotel and features culinary concepts from Chicago’s celebrated Boka Restaurant Group.

Situated at the intersection of Cedar and State Streets, the urban resort rises 18 stories and is home to the neighborhood’s first rooftop pool, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows and views of Lake Michigan. The hotel is steps from top attractions including the Magnificent Mile, high-end storefronts on Oak Street and some of the city’s most popular restaurants, including Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse and Fig & Olive.

The hotel focuses on community partnerships, offering guests a variety of wellness and fashion programs, including Chill Chicago, a modern meditation studio; CorePower Yoga, a nationally recognized provider; and FELT, an upscale women’s clothing boutique located in Logan Square, which provides styling sessions and private shopping for hotel guests.

Flâneur, a French literary figure known for its free spirit and passion for exploration, inspired the hotel’s design, which features bold art fixtures and a 30-foot poem wall. Guestrooms feature a distinct headboard wall with a digital reproduction of an original work produced by London artist, Tim Modus.
