MasterCard and Pebble Beach teamed to offer resort guests an enhanced experience, as MasterCard is now the official payment technology provider of Pebble Beach Resorts. Guests enjoying Pebble Beach Resorts’ golf courses, spas, dining, retail and more enjoy access to innovative payment technologies and cardholder perks, such as VIP treatment at events like Pebble Beach Food & Wine.

“Our Start Something Priceless movement is centered on empowering people in their pursuit of passion and purpose — golf being one of those passion points,” said Andres Siefken, executive vice president, North America marketing and communications, MasterCard. “We are delighted to work with the premiere organization that is Pebble Beach Company to further our brand movement and bring our cardholders closer to their passion for the game of golf in a truly unique manner with our exclusive experiences and advanced payment technology.”

“MasterCard is an industry leader in both payment technology and providing truly priceless experiences to its cardholders, which is a great complement to the one-in-a-lifetime experience that we strive to provide our resort guests on a daily basis,” said Bill Perocchi, CEO, Pebble Beach Company. “We are looking forward to exploring ways to integrate the unique MasterCard technologies into the resort experience, which will undoubtedly enhance our guest visits to Pebble Beach.”

MasterCard is just one of the many Pebble Beach Resorts’ brand partners, including Avis, Lexus and XOJET.

Five Tips to Help Minimize Potential Travel Problems

Explore Portugal on a Wine Tasting Tour with a Touch of History

All it takes is one glance at the grounds of Quinta Dona Maria, which includes a grand villa and surrounding gardens, to realize wine tasting in Portugal comes with a good dose of history. The vineyard is located in Estremoz, just northeast of the first-century Roman ruins found in Evora. In 1718 King João V built this estate for his lover, Dona Maria. When she died, the current owner’s ancestors purchased the land and have been making wine ever since. Taste the wine, which is terrific, especially the full-bodied red Dona Maria Grand Reserve. Then venture inside a building that stores large amphora vases, including one dating back to the 1200s.
