To strengthen its expansion efforts announced at this year’s 2015 Global Business Travel Association Convention in Orlando, Fla., LOT Polish Airlines agreed on an extension of its commercial ties with Turkish Airlines in order to enhance benefits for their customers.
Turkish and LOT entered their existing partnership in 2000, codesharing on the route between Istanbul (IST) and Warsaw (WAW). In 2014, the carriers extended their agreement to include Turkish Airlines’ flights between Istanbul and Amman (AMM), Cairo (CAI) and Ankara (ESB) and LOT’s services between Vienna (VIE) and Warsaw, and Warsaw and Krakow (KRK).
Under the terms of the new agreement, both airlines will place its codes on select flights to domestic destinations in Turkey and Poland as well as to cities in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The expanded partnership enables passengers to travel with convenient stopovers and only one ticket to even more destinations around the world.
“LOT is ready to grow immediately as of 2016, and now is the best moment to strength equal cooperation with our key airline partners. LOT and Turkish Airlines have been partners for many years. I am convinced that this letter of understanding will help us to create unique and global offer. This will give our passengers all advantages of worldwide and supplementary networks of both carriers,” said Sebastian Mikosz, CEO, LOT Polish Airlines.
Turkish Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines are currently operating five weekly flights between Istanbul and Warsaw, respectively.
