This August, jazz superstar Herbie Hancock joins Cunard’s legendary Queen Mary II on a jazz-themed trans-Atlantic crossing from Southampton to New York. The musical cruise takes place Aug. 1–9, during which Hancock will offer three 45-minute performances in the liner’s Royal Court Theatre.
Hancock wrote the first jazz album to ever go platinum, and has since garnered 14 Grammy awards. He’ll be accompanied by band members Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, James Genus on bass and Lionel Loueke on guitar. The cruise is part of Cunard’s continued partnership with Blue Note Records and Blue Note Jazz Clubs. Blue note is a flagship label belonging to Capitol Music Group.
