Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced two planned properties for Mexico City. Two boutique hotels debut in the upscale Polanco neighborhood in 2020. The Polanco neighborhood is not only home to 20 foreign embassies, but plenty of shopping, dining and art as well.
The brand plans to transform historic and non-hotel buildings into boutique properties that reflect the buildings’ pasts. Both hotels feature fewer than 50 guestrooms each, along with a signature restaurant and rooftop bar at each.
“Polanco will be home to Kimpton’s first two boutique hotels in the country and illustrates our continued growth in the Americas. We look forward to bringing Kimpton’s irreverent spirit and heartfelt hospitality to life with ZKC and VineTower,” said Mike DeFrino, CEO, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
“We were looking for a boutique partner who had a track record of operational excellence and a true understanding of modern guest needs. These two projects will complement but be distinct from one another, bringing an award-winning hospitality brand to a highly sought-after location. We’re excited to marry Kimpton’s expertise with our deep knowledge of the region,” added Mauricio Khalifa, partner, ZKC.
