Hawaiian Airlines and Japan Airlines announced a comprehensive new partnership, greatly easing the experience for passengers travelling between the island chains.
The agreement takes effect March 25, 2018, subject to government approval. It will provide for extensive codesharing, lounge access and frequent-flyer programme reciprocity.
“Hawaiian Airlines is well known among Japanese travellers for its warm hospitality and its excellent record for punctuality and safety,” said Yoshiharu Ueki, president, Japan Airlines. “We look forward to providing our passengers with additional options of exceptional service and comfortable travel to and throughout the Hawaiian Islands.”
In addition to reward miles earning opportunities and lounge access, the agreement will allow JAL customers unlimited access to the Japan–Hawai’i network, including non-stop flights between Sapporo (CTS) and Honolulu (HNL); and Hawaiian Airlines customers will have access to JAL’s domestic network, including Nagoya (NKM), Fukuoka (FUK), Sendai (SDJ) and Aomori (AOJ).
