Verizon introduced a new talk, messaging and data plan for travelers called TravelPass. The plan allows users to avoid roaming charges and the desperate search for WiFi for as little as $2 per day, per line.
TravelPass uses the minutes, text and data from your existing Verizon domestic plan, so there are no hidden fees associated with this program. Verizon users can sign up by visiting MyVerizon.com and selecting manage international services or by going through the MyVerizon app to activate the plan before you leave.
The plans are $2 per 24 hours of use in Mexico and Canada, and $10 per 24 hours in more than 65 other countries. You’re only charged for the days you use it, with each daily session beginning when you make or receive a call, connect to a data service or send a text message. There is no additional charge for adding international services to your account, and you can activate it anytime. It will remain on your account when it’s not in use, for no extra fee.
