On Charleston, South Carolina’s, historic Upper King Street, you’ll find brand-new The Nickel Hotel, a 50-room luxury property that perfected the right blend of Charleston’s charm with chic décor.

After the success of its sister property, The Pinch, Method Co. now brings its second project to life through elegant guestrooms and suites, a lush interior courtyard, library, guest-only cocktail bar, and more. The Nickel Hotel’s lobby sets the stage for the rest of the experience, with hand-painted porcelain plaster and a large, antique French tapestry hanging on the wall.
Guestrooms and suites were designed to evoke the comforts of home, with each boasting a full-sized kitchen with built-in Bosch appliances, honed marble countertops, dining and lounge spaces, LG washer and dryer, custom-designed furniture, House of Hackney wallpaper, Nordic Knot Scandinavian rugs, and Gubi coffee tables. Guests can select their preferred view from their room or suite: either the lush courtyard or King Street. Many rooms also come with private balconies.

The interior courtyard alone is a focal point of the property, with three stories of ornate, wrought-iron balconies; earthy terracotta tones; wood-burning fireplace; and a two-tiered fountain in the center making for a relaxing, European-influenced space. Greenery drapes around these courtyard pieces for an oasis within the heart of Charleston.

Overlooking the courtyard is The Parlour, a private event space and listening room with its own selection of vinyl. Other highlights of the hotel include Bar Daniel, a private guest lounge on the second floor serving craft cocktails and espresso drinks, and soon-to-open Rosemary Rose, a rooftop lounge with 360-degree views of the city. Rosemary Rose will open later this summer and offer a curated selection of cocktails and light bites in a hacienda-style space.

Blending with its Montrose neighborhood like the indigenous and cultivated plants hugging the property’s walkways, the newly built Hotel Saint Augustine opened mid-January 2025. The first Bunkhouse hotel in Houston, Texas, is easily mistaken for garden apartments. Seventy-one guest rooms and suites encompass a tree-lined block. The hotel’s buildings are only two stories tall and also house a lobby, lounge, restaurant and event space. Tucked into a corner of the grounds sits a circular outdoor pool.

Arizona’s capital and most populous city basks beneath the sun year-round, boasting Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses, major sports teams, luxury spas and lively nightclubs. The city lies within the Salt River Valley along the northern reaches of the Sonoran Desert, making for dramatic mountain views and vast desert landscapes beyond. The city itself comprises 15 urban villages, many tracing roots to historical communities. Despite brutally hot summers, various experiences and sites in and around the city combat the heat, such as tubing and kayaking on the Salt River, swimming in any of the city’s six lakes, taking a moonlight hike, or floating in one of a number of the city’s upscale hotel pools.
