InterContinental Hotels Group expects to open a new InterContinental property in Thailand later this year. The InterContinental Khao Yai Swan Lake Resort will act as a destination retreat within the Swan Lake development, offering seven manmade lakes and more than 50,000 trees across 100 acres.
Plans for the 61-guestroom property include a pool, gym, kids’ club and wedding chapel. The hotel will only offer 45 guestrooms upon opening, with the remainder of the rooms — all unique train car suites — opening in 2021. The 16 train car suites are repurposed heritage train cars.
The property’s setting is Khao Yai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site a short drive from Bangkok.
“The signing represents the strong growth momentum of the InterContinental brand in Thailand and Southeast Asia. With our strong brand positioning and presence in Thailand, we are excited to unveil the extraordinary experience with this unique luxurious property. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, Khao Yai National Park, is perfectly positioned for our guests to soak in nature and enjoy the wildlife, providing rich and memorable guest experiences,” said Serena Lim, vice president, development for South East Asia and Korea, IHG.
