Iceland’s premier airline, Icelandair, is set to strengthen its reach in North America with new seasonal service to Montreal next year. The carrier will introduce its first gateway in the province of Quebec and 16th in North America with the launch of flights to Pierre Trudeau International Airport.

From May 19, 2016, the national carrier will offer four flights per week between Iceland’s hub at Keflavik International Airport to Canada’s second-largest city through Nov. 8, 2016. The five-hour, non-stop flight provides passengers with connections from Iceland to more than 20 destinations in the airline’s network across Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.

“Montreal will be our fifth Canadian gateway, opening the skies to Europe from Canada’s second largest city. The addition of Montreal will give Canadians coast to coast more options in travel from Canada and provide both the business and leisure traveler a refreshing alternative when traveling to Iceland and beyond,” said Birkir Holm Gudnason, CEO, Icelandair.

What Maui Visitors Need to Know

Five Tips to Help Minimize Potential Travel Problems

Explore Portugal on a Wine Tasting Tour with a Touch of History

All it takes is one glance at the grounds of Quinta Dona Maria, which includes a grand villa and surrounding gardens, to realize wine tasting in Portugal comes with a good dose of history. The vineyard is located in Estremoz, just northeast of the first-century Roman ruins found in Evora. In 1718 King João V built this estate for his lover, Dona Maria. When she died, the current owner’s ancestors purchased the land and have been making wine ever since. Taste the wine, which is terrific, especially the full-bodied red Dona Maria Grand Reserve. Then venture inside a building that stores large amphora vases, including one dating back to the 1200s.
