Iberia gave the Velázquez Premium Lounge, located in Terminal 4 of the satellite building at Madrid (MAD), a new facelift with significant changes to improve traveler experiences.

“From now on, to rest, to work, to enjoy a refreshment or calmly wait for your flight to be called have a new meaning; we have made improvements to everything, with special attention to connectivity and food service, for an unrivaled customer experience,” said Gabriel Perdiguero, customer and business transformation director, Iberia.

The lounge was expanded by 25 percent for a 500-passenger capacity. Refurbishments include added connectivity with USB charging ports embedded in lounge chairs and dining tables. An open work area provides meeting space.

Technology is also added to the dining experience. Touchscreen tablets are available in the buffet area, to provide information on the food and beverages offered, as well as recommendations.

The improved dining options include sit-down, restaurant-style service, as well as hot and cold buffets. Both Spanish and international cuisine are served. A variety of regional wines are offered, alongside beers and spirits.

The new lounge provides six shower booths, with all the necessary amenities. A rest area offers nap-sized chaise lounges. Children have their own space, with an entertainment zone catering to their needs.

“The new Velázquez Premium Lounge represents another advance toward our objective of making continuous improvements to our customer services, giving our passengers the most enjoyable travel experience when they fly with Iberia,” added Perdiguero.
