Hyatt aims to open more than 200 hotels in the Americas over the next two years. The corporation expects to debut more than 50 full-service and select-service hotels and 140 additional hotels. The openings grow the Hyatt regional brand presence by 33 percent. There are currently 585 Hyatt hotels operating in the Americas. Hyatt credits strong growth in California, Texas, New York, Canada and Mexico. Strong growth for new Hyatt brands such as Alila, Thompson Hotels and Joie de Vivre is particularly expected.

“Hyatt remains focused on thoughtfully growing our full service and select service portfolio of brands in the Americas region — and growing and running our core hotel business: the development, management and franchising of full service and select service hotels, while being best-in-class,” said Pete Sears, Americas group president, Hyatt. “Hyatt’s Americas growth through 2022 further signals incredible strength in our brand among owners, customers and guests across the largest region within Hyatt’s global portfolio.”

Currently, planned openings through 2022 in the Americas include one Alila property, three Andaz properties, four Destination Hotels properties, two Grand Hyatt properties, 16 Hyatt Centric properties, nearly 50 Hyatt House properties, approximately 80 Hyatt Place properties, four Hyatt Regency properties, three Joie de Vivre properties, one Miraval property, four Park Hyatt properties, nine Thompson Hotels properties and four Unbound Collection by Hyatt properties.
