Car rental giant Hertz is expanding its monthly vehicle subscription service, Hertz My Car, nationwide. The service, offering customers a variety of car rental options in three monthly subscription tiers, will be available at all corporate airports and neighborhood locations.
The first option begins at $599 (all tier pricing excludes taxes and one-time enrollment fee of $250) and includes economy, compact and mid-sized sedans. The second tier begins at $999 and includes full-sized sedans, small SUVs and trucks, while the third tier begins at $1,399 and includes luxury sedans, regular SUVs and large trucks.
Customers can exchange their vehicle up to twice a month to fit their needs, and all-inclusive subscriptions include vehicle maintenance, roadside assistance and limited liability protection. Vehicle damage protection is only available for tier two and three subscriptions, but can be added to tier one for an additional fee.
“We’re excited to expand Hertz My Car nationwide to give customers the ultimate flexibility and convenience when it comes to their daily travels,” said Laura Smith, executive vice president of global marketing, customer experience, Hertz. “Since launching in Austin and Atlanta last year, we’ve seen growth in the program locally and greater interest in other markets.
“Hertz My Car subscribers told us they like the flexibility of the program and the fact they can swap vehicles twice per month at no additional cost. They also said they wanted to pick up and return at other locations, which helped support our decision to expand across the country. To enable even more people to enjoy Hertz My Car, we also introduced a third tier at a lower price point of $599 per month.”

As our four-passenger plane prepared to land on a gravely shoreline in Lake Clark National Park, one of the most remote national parks in the United States, accessible only by plane or boat, my excitement grew. Though the flight was scenic and provided a terrific perspective of the vast expanse of this part of Southcentral Alaska, my fellow passengers and I had one thing on our mind — bears!
I was staying in New York City with my daughter. We arrived at Penn Station, right across the street from Hotel Pennsylvania, at 9:30 a.m. — way too early to check in. But we had some luggage we didn’t want to carry around with us, so we stopped at the hotel to leave it.

On a summer stroll around my friend’s Colorado Springs Ivywild neighborhood, a school building was bustling. Odd, at first sight, as it was summer, and school was clearly not in session. But upon further inquiry, I learned the former Ivywild Elementary School, closed in 2009, had been completely reimagined as part of a Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority project.

ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: After a revamped and reduced (but still perfect!) wedding and ceremony Aug. 15, my new husband and I decided to take a mini-moon to the Jersey shore. Like most of your 2020 travels, our honeymoon to South Africa has been indefinitely postponed, so we traded Cape Town for Cape May and made the best of it. As Cape May is known for its Victorian influences and bed and breakfasts, we wanted to try a B&B. After much research, we found the perfect blend of modernity and tradition at Pharos at The Harrison.
