Hawai’i’s flagship carrier, Hawaiian Airlines, recently began sales of its new premium cabin offering fully lie-flat seating for travel starting in December, between Honolulu (HNL) and Narita (NRT); Sydney (SYD); Brisbane (BNE); and Auckland (AKL). The Airbus A330 premium cabin blends island-inspired luxury and comfort with the airline’s in-flight hospitality.

The airline’s premium cabin features 18 lie-flat leather seats that fold into 180-degree beds. The seats, configured 2-2-2, are tailored to leisure guests like couples, families and honeymooners, while offering functionality to the business traveler.

“We are thrilled to introduce our international guests to our lie-flat seats — the centerpiece of a Premium Cabin thoughtfully crafted to bring onboard all of the sights, sounds and tastes of Hawai’i,” said Avi Mannis, senior vice president for marketing, Hawaiian Airlines. “We look forward to bringing this distinctive experience to additional markets in the coming year.”

The airline provides complimentary amenity kits, which include a cotton quilt, a lounging pillow, hand and body balm, lip balm and hydrating mist, dental kit, a bamboo comb, socks with a slipper design that invite travelers to sleep well and an eye mask. A plush mattress pad and pillow are provided to travelers for a more comfortable sleep.

Guests can enjoy world-class cuisine presented on custom-crafted dinnerware, linens and trays, showcasing regional food by Hawai’i’s top local chef. A premier cocktail and full beverage bar service offers specialty local drinks. Seats include intuitive controls and access to multiple power ports, including two USB connections and one A/C outlet. The in-flight entertainment system includes more than 100 hours of movies and TV.

The premium cabin is available for travel starting Dec. 5, between Honolulu and Narita, Brisbane and Auckland, and Dec. 13, for flights between Honolulu and Sydney. As part of the cabin retrofit, the airline is adding 28 additional Extra Comfort seats to the A330 aircraft. The Extra Comfort option features 36 inches of pitch, priority boarding at the gate, complimentary on-demand in-seat entertainment and a personal power outlet.
