Following the mass success of the recently launched Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story on Netflix, London’s The Lanesborough invites guests to feel like royalty themselves with the new Bridgerton–themed afternoon tea experience inspired by the new series.
This limited-edition tea experience pays homage to the Regency era, when great balls, elegant parties, elegant dresses and suits, and decadent food and drinks were practically a daily thing. The Lanesborough puts a contemporary twist on the era within the hotel’s beautiful dining room, which illuminates in the day by a domed glass roof.

The new afternoon tea experience sees a variety of signature teas offered, including a specially made Queen Charlotte blend. This particular blend brings floral and black tea notes together, resulting in a sweet tea with elements of fruit and rose petals. Other teas available during the experience include The Lanesborough’s classic Breakfast Tea, as well as traditional black, green and herbal teas.
Head pastry chef Salvatore Mungiovino crafted a menu paying tribute to main characters from the show. Finger sandwiches include tea-cured salmon, lemon and caper cream; Coronation chicken, golden raisin and fresh coriander; deviled egg mayonnaise and mustard cress; organic cucumber, cream cheese, basil and chive; and Montgomery cheddar scone and cheese curd.

For pastries, guests can indulge in some creative and unique creations. The Your Majesty is dedicated to the star of the series and is a handcrafted, strawberry-scented cream bavarois with hues of gold and red. This pastry also includes infused orange gel, a crunchy almond base and red chocolate, all made edible from royal icing. The King George Dreams of Venus honors King George II and sees a planet sphere made of chocolate mousse, jasmine-infused dark chocolate ganache, coca sable and glazed-on blue and white stars.
Enjoy The Lady Violet, an elegant chocolate bavarois, mango compote and lime Chantilly on a shortbread finish with tempered chocolate and sugar flowers; and Danbury Delight, a Berriolette pistachio gateaux combined with whipped vanilla ganache on a vanilla sable based with tempered chocolate.
Don’t worry, there’s also a cocktail for this special experience! The Queen Charlotte cocktail combines Fords Gin, Chambord liqueur, cranberry, exotic lychee, home vanilla sweetness and lime sunshine, all topped with Champagne.

Jun 6, 2023Time to Unwind
I recently returned from my second annual golf trip to Kiawah Island, where we enjoyed fantastic weather. Upon arrival, the group met for lunch at The Ryder Cup Bar, located at The Ocean Course, one of the top-ranked courses in the country. Luckily, we were not playing that day, as the wind whipped up and brought unscheduled douses of rain. As one of the caddies told me, wind gusts of 35 mph made the course unplayable. But some players braved the conditions as we sat comfortably inside enjoying our first lunch of the trip while chairs cascaded outside and players tried to keep their shots on track.
