My husband and I recently enjoyed an overnight getaway at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. The resort is a one-stop shop for an entertaining escape. We packed a lot into our one-night stay, and it left us looking forward to a return visit.
The property has a prime location right on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, steps away from Steel Pier. It was rainy during our visit, so we didn’t take advantage of the resort’s beach access.

Hard Rock has so much to offer, guests don’t need to step foot off of the property. Upon arrival, we left our car with the valet and made our way to the V.I.P. check-in space. The front desk attendant swiftly checked us in and directed us to our room in the North Tower. The South Tower is closer to the restaurants and casino, though we appreciated the quietness of North Tower. Our ocean-view room featured floor-to-ceiling windows, a king-sized bed, full shower, work space and mini fridge. We dropped off our bags and made our way out for the night.

Dinner was at Kuro, the hotel’s contemporary Japanese restaurant. Cherry blossom-inspired décor adorns the dining room. We relaxed in our cozy booth, perusing the menu. Kuro’s beverage program includes Japanese beer, spirits and sake, in addition to local options. The signature cocktails fall into five sections of taste: sweet, sour, umami, salty and bitter. I ordered Pinku, the salty option. Made with vodka, mezcal, watermelon, lime and ichimi salt, it was a surprisingly refreshing start to the meal.
We opted to order our meal á la carte, selecting a variety of cold and hot dishes to share. We enjoyed everything, though there were several standouts. Our overall favorite was a simple Green Goddess salad with tomatoes, crispy noodles and shiso dressing. Other standouts included toro tartar, Wagyu lollipops and tuna crispy rice.

After dinner we decided to try our luck at the casino. We spent time playing blackjack, bouncing to a few different tables — we almost broke even! Up next, we had tickets to the Mötley Crüe show at Etess Arena. The venue is spacious but manageable enough that there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The concert was fun and the energy of the crowd was infectious. We called it a night as the performance ended.
In the morning, we enjoyed a leisurely room service breakfast while we packed to go home. I almost always get the same room service breakfast order of eggs with bacon, potatoes and toast. It hit the spot, as did the hot coffee.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City offers guests a perfect blend of entertainment with fine and casual dining, intimate and large-scale performances, thrilling table games and low-key slot machines, and everything in between.
