Global Traveler, the only monthly magazine for business and luxury travelers, announces Turkish Airlines as the 2015 Airline of the Year and The Ritz-Carlton as the 2015 Hotel of the Year. This marks the fifth year Global Traveler awarded Airline and Hotel of the Year nods.
“This year’s winners embody the 5-star service upscale travelers have come to expect; these winners are even personal favorites of the Global Traveler team,” said Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO, Global Traveler. “These awards are the pinnacle of success in the travel industry, and winners are evaluated on a number of factors. Congratulations to these titans of travel.”
Members of the Global Traveler Advisory Board, a hand-picked committee of well-traveled business advisors, selected the Airline and Hotel of the Year winners at an event Sept. 16 in Philadelphia. The winners were chosen from a list of nominees (selected by GT staff) invited to complete an application form. Nominees submitted pertinent information, including financial data, occupancy rates, load factors, on-time figures, safety records and menus. Airlines and hotels that did not submit the required information were evaluated solely on independent research. Once an airline or hotel is selected, it is ineligible to participate for three years.
