India’s financial capital not only has the highest number of billionaires of any Asian city, but it also stands as the entertainment and commercial capital of South Asia. Dating back to ancient times, Mumbai has seen many eras, from colonial British and Portuguese rules to an independent territory. The city is rich in culture and history, from lively street food scenes to Bollywood to energetic cricket matches.
GETTING THERE & AROUND
Many major airlines operate from the city’s main airport, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Air India continues to grow its global presence, too, linking both domestic and international destinations. While no direct train service is available from airport to city, buses and taxis to nearby train stations are options. Vile Parle Station and Anhderi Station can connect you to the city center. Mumbai’s bus services are used most by locals, but trains and Mumbai Darshan tourist bus service are also available, making for easy travel around the city.
