It’s nearly time: Madrid’s 7th Annual Gastrofestival 2017 gets under way Jan. 21–Feb. 5, 2017. Restaurant and bar menus citywide join the celebration with Degustatapas (tapas served with a bottle of Mahou), Our Favorite Bars (tapas served with a bottle of Rioja) and Dinner with the Stars, a moving event that puts an international star chef in the kitchen at a top area restaurant. Last year, Italian chef Giuseppe Iannotti joined El Club Allard to create a truffle-based dinner extravaganza.
Other planned events include the Sweet Tooth Route, the Colombian Coffee Route and unique entertainments such as a squid baguette competition. Depending on the city location, restaurants will offer either a Spanish Cuisine or Cuisine of the World menu. The whole city joins in, from eateries and cocktail bars to boutiques, cultural institutions, museums, art galleries and culinary schools. Festival event categories are Gastronomic Madrid, Sensory Experiences, Gastroculture, Gastrofashion, Gastrohealth and Design and Gastronomy.
