For the second year in a row, Garuda Indonesia received a 5-star airline rating from prominent airline rating agency Skytrax.
“In global competition airline industry, Garuda Indonesia proved to the world that they can survive and even perform the best value and service standard,” said Edward Plaisted, CEO, Skytrax. “The consistency of product and service quality is the biggest and most important point in 5-star certification audit, and we proudly pronounced that Garuda Indonesia’s aircraft are offering various classes that meet the requirement as [a] 5-star airline.”
Throughout 2016, Garuda Indonesia will conduct further revamps to its fleet, as it receives 16 new aircraft. These will include a Boeing 777-300ER, four Airbus A330-300s, four ATR72-600s and eight Airbus A320s. This will put the carrier’s total numbers to 188 aircraft in operation, with 44 of those operated by sister carrier Citilink.
