Following renovations in 2020, the current Loews Regency San Francisco begins new life as the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero.
“With a rich cultural landscape, unmatched culinary experiences and a market strengthened by the region’s renowned tech boom, San Francisco is one of the country’s most dynamic, thriving cities. Due in large part to these strong market conditions, we’re excited to offer guests a second Four Seasons experience, enhancing our portfolio in the Bay Area,” said Bart Carnahan, executive vice president, global business development and portfolio management, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
The property, located on the top 11 floors of the city’s fourth-tallest building, offers more than 150 guestrooms and suites, all with skyline and bay views. Once renovations are complete, the hotel offers an all-day restaurant and bar, a fitness center and a spa. Renovations are planned for all guestrooms and suites, corridors and public areas.
Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero joins Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco, with its private residences, which opened in 2001 in the Yerba Buena arts district. The brand also boasts a standalone residential property in the works in San Francisco: Four Seasons Private Residences at 706 Mission St., is due to open in 2020.

May 6, 2024Explore Portugal on a Wine Tasting Tour with a Touch of History
All it takes is one glance at the grounds of Quinta Dona Maria, which includes a grand villa and surrounding gardens, to realize wine tasting in Portugal comes with a good dose of history. The vineyard is located in Estremoz, just northeast of the first-century Roman ruins found in Evora. In 1718 King João V built this estate for his lover, Dona Maria. When she died, the current owner’s ancestors purchased the land and have been making wine ever since. Taste the wine, which is terrific, especially the full-bodied red Dona Maria Grand Reserve. Then venture inside a building that stores large amphora vases, including one dating back to the 1200s.
