InterContinental Hotels Group plans to open its first Hotel Indigo property in the Arabian Gulf. The property is slated to open in the summer, pending the current situation, on the banks of Dubai Creek and just a short distance from Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown will offer an enviable location allowing guests ample opportunity to explore Dubai, Dubai Creek and the many famous landmarks along its banks.
Plans for the property include more than 250 guestrooms, all inspired by the hotel’s location, with surrealist-style wallpaper, bespoke lighting fixtures, carved wardrobes and more. Guest bathrooms feature a mother-of-pearl theme, a nod to Dubai’s pearl-diving heritage. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the Dubai skyline and Dubai Canal.
More than 200 pieces of artwork are featured throughout the hotel, thanks to partnerships with the Alserkal Cultural Foundation, XCA gallery and Fatima Bint Mohammed Bin Zayed Initiative, among others.
On-site dining includes Neighborhood Cafe, for Levant flavors and custom, specialty coffees, and Bakala Jooos, for smoothies. A pop art-inspired cocktail bar is also planned. Music and shisha is slated for the pool deck.
