EZDoctor recently paired with April, provider of global travel insurance, to bring tele-medicine services to those traveling abroad. The only things travelers need to connect with a certified doctor from anywhere in the world are a webcam and Internet connection. The service aims to eliminate unnecessary doctor visits in foreign countries, saving travelers both time and money.

While the service is not intended for medical emergencies, it is suitable for more minor illnesses and unexpected symptoms such as the flu, common cold or allergies. The physician will be able to provide the best medical advice to fit the situation. The service will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with assistance within 15 minutes of a patient’s physician request. The physicians are fluent in not only English, but Spanish, Portuguese and French.

Demand for tele-medicine is quickly increasing, with almost 10 million travelers using some form of tele-medicine last year.
