Discover the fascinating land of Korea. From ancient tradition to soaring modernity, Korea offers a little bit of everything. This itinerary takes you from Seoul and Paju to Andong, Gyeongju and Busan with experience-filled days. From the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea to the morning rituals at a Buddhist monastery, this trip is sure to offer an eye-opening education into all that Korea has to offer.

Day 1

Welcome to Seoul. Arrive at Incheon International Airport and transfer to Seoul by AREX. Enjoy a welcome dinner after checking in at Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun.

Day 2

Take a history and culture tour, visiting the War Memorial of Korea and Gwangjang Market. Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of Seoul’s five historic palaces, is also on the itinerary before trips to Insa-dong and Bukchon Hanok Village. End the day with a Korean traditional-style meal with various side dishes.

Day 3

Set off to Korea’s Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ. The line, a buffer between North and South Korea, is drawn at the 38th parallel north and runs for 250 kilometers. Korea’s Freedom Bridge runs next to, not over, Imjingang River. Explore the underground tunnels and learn how each side defends their territory. After the tour, travel to Andong and spend the night at a traditional hanok.

Day 4

Relax in the morning before visiting Buyongdae viewpoint and Hahoe Folk Village, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Hahoe Mask Museum. After the visit, travel to Gyeongju and dinner in Hwangnidan-gil, where the trendiest restaurants are located. Later, dress in traditional hanbok and take a walking tour under moonlight.

Day 5

Start your day in Gyeongju with a visit to Cheomseongdae, the oldest-surviving astronomical observatory in Asia. Then, learn how to make bibimbap at a cooking class before visiting Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa Temple, both UNESCO sites. End your day with a temple stay at Bulguksa Temple and gain a deeper appreciation of Korean Buddhism

Day 6

The day begins with early morning meditation. At the conclusion of your temple stay, travel to Busan and visit Haedong Yonggungsa Temple. After a stop at Jagalchi Market, enjoy grilled clams at a beach-side restaurant.

Day 7

Spend your last morning exploring Busan before transferring to Incheon International Airport via Korea Train Express.

San Francisco, a city renowned for its commercial hubs and cultural sites, will become the first destination in the United States for one of Accor's newest brands, Handwritten Collection. The city’s Hotel Stratford San Francisco, Handwritten Collection is a European-style boutique property located near Union Square on the famous Powell Street cable car line. The area will now have the Handwritten Collection name behind it. The property becomes Accor's third hotel in San Francisco, joining the Fairmont properties atop Nob Hill and at Ghirardelli Square.

Althoff Grand Hotel Schloss Bensberg Review

After a long drive from our previous destination, it was a relief to see Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg in our view. When we pulled into the hotel court, I felt like we were pulling up to a royal palace. Considering the hotel was originally built as a castle for Prince Elector Johann Wilhelm II of Duesseldorf and his wife, Maria-Luisa of the Medici family, my thought wasn’t that far off.
