To cater to growing demand, Etihad Airways will boost its service between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Dublin (DUB) from 10 flights per week to double daily this summer. With the increase, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates will offer approximately 9,000 seats each week between the two capitals from July 15. The flights will be operated with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring 40 lie-flat seats in business class, and Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with 22 lie-flat seats in business class. The schedule will provide connectivity both ways with 800 weekly connections to 45 destinations in Etihad’s network in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, including Bangkok (BKK), Beijing (PEK), Brisbane (BNE), Jakarta (CGK), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Manila (MNL), Melbourne (MEL), Perth (PER), Singapore (SIN), Sydney (SYD) and Tokyo (NRT). “The 40 percent increase in flight frequency will benefit business and leisure travel not only between Ireland and the U.A.E., but also right across the Etihad Airways network, especially countries which have a connection with Ireland like Australia, Thailand and Malaysia,” said James Hogan, president and CEO, Etihad Airways.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
