The new, upgraded service between John F. Kennedy International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport begins June 1, 2017, in response to traveler demand. The airline’s Airbus A380 aircraft featuring The Residence and First Apartment cabins will serve the route at that time, replacing the current Boeing 777-300ER. “The response we have received from Etihad Airways guests traveling between Abu Dhabi and New York since we launched the service nearly a decade ago has been phenomenal, and we are delighted to further expand our world-class product for all guests traveling to and from New York,” said Peter Baumgartner, CEO, Etihad Airways. The A380’s Residence treats travelers to a chauffeur-driven ride to the airport and an onboard, three-room suite with a shower room, plus luxury butler service. The nine First Apartments include private living spaces that transform into fully-flat beds. The aircraft also features 70 Business Studies and 415 economy seats. “Our commitment to our guests has always been to be the very best airline in the world by totally reimagining the travel experience and delivering the highest levels of comfort, luxury and world-class hospitality at every point in their travel journey — on the ground and in the air — across all classes of service,” added Baumgartner. This fall, Etihad Airways celebrates 10 years of service between Abu Dhabi and New York. With the upcoming change, the airline offers two A380 flights between the destinations daily, with flights departing Abu Dhabi at 3:35 a.m., and 10:10 a.m., and New York at 3:00 p.m., and 10:45 p.m.
