Plan now to enjoy one of the many upcoming culinary-themed events taking place this spring and summer at Bernardus Lodge & Spa in Carmel Valley, Calif. Chef Cal’s Summer Garden Tour takes place each Saturday, noon to 1 p.m., Memorial Day weekend through August (with the exception of Aug. 25). The lodge’s chef Cal Stamenov and horticulturist Mark Marino lead the tour. Guests will explore the three-acre organic herb, flower and vegetable gardens, and meet the Italian honeybees dwelling in the lodge’s apiary.
The Lavender Harvest Celebration, July 24, celebrates the property’s expansive gardens, where more than 1,000 lavender plants grow among olive trees and rosemary shrubs on 28 acres. Chef Cal and Mark Marino will once again be on hand, leading guests among the lavender beds, and to host a honey tasting and a buffet lunch inspired by the lavender blooms.

Taking place July 28 in the lodge’s fragrant, blooming rose garden, the Rose Soiree celebrates the iconic flower with rose wines, canapés, a seafood bar and fresh seasonal desserts — a great excuse to break out your best summer outfits and your favorite hats!
