U.S. travelers can now use ePassport gates when entering the United Kingdom. Citizens from seven countries, including the United States and Canada, will see shorter lines and more efficient movement through ePassport gates upon arrival.
Residents returning home will experience a better flow through customs, as eligible travelers will be exempt from the landing card requirement, streamlining the entire process and providing faster movement through customs.
As a result of the new ePassport gate eligibility, VisitBritain predicts 3.9 million visitors will arrive in the United Kingdom this year, potentially spending upwards of $4.25 billion — as the United States is the most valuable inbound visitor market.
