Park Hyatt announced the opening of Park Hyatt Los Angeles, its first luxury hotel operating under the brand. The Park Hyatt Los Angeles will be the sixth U.S. property and the second in California for the brand, focusing on personalized luxury service and hotels designed with a serene, residential feel.

The hotel is to include 184 guestrooms including 34 suites that design firm Studio Munge are selected to conceive. It’s being developed to open in 2019 as part of a Downtown Los Angeles mixed-use development, immediately adjacent to the Staples Center. It will include a curated retail and restaurant component with seven stories of storefronts topped by an open-air galleria and wrapped by a 700-foot ribbon of LED signage projecting onto Figueroa Street.

Park Hyatt will join other hotel brands in the luxury sector by entering the residence market, a first for the brand, with the introduction of The Park Hyatt Los Angeles Residences at Oceanwide Plaza, with sales set to launch in 2018 for 164 units.

As guests have been wowed by Park Hyatt properties all over the world, they will be just as stunned by the development of another Park Hyatt location in one of the world’s most sought after leisure and entertainment destinations.

Downtown Los Angeles has seen a surge of interest from developers throughout the last several years and hotels are of particular interest. The downtown area welcomes a number of new high-profile properties since the 2010 opening of the JW Marriott and The Ritz-Carlton including the recent opening of IHG’s flagship InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown.
