This August, the Mile High City will be immersed in all things yoga for four days when the inaugural Denver Yoga Festival spreads its mat across the town. Workshops and yoga classes commence Aug. 4 and continue through Aug. 7. Unlike Colorado’s annual mountain-based festivals, this new endeavor embraces Denver’s beautiful urban environment. Pre-festival workshops will offer Reiki Certification and Adaptive Yoga Certification for yoga careerists, and classes for wheelchair-bound yogis or those with special needs will be offered — with scholarship passes available to assist those who need it. A free yoga camp for children with games and music, courtesy of Flex Yoga+Barre, will be offered as part of the purchase of an adult ticket. During Denver Yoga Festival, workshops, certifications and interactive sessions with top yoga pros will take place in the neighborhood around Union Station, including the historic Oxford Hotel. Among the authentic experiences that participants will enjoy are brunch with Yogini on the Loose Gina Caputo, Yoga Day on Coors Field, panel discussions on the current state of yoga, a yoga fashion show, dance parties, Meditation & Tea Time with meditation and Tantra Yoga scholar Dr. Lorin Roche, a yoga-themed hike at world-renowned Red Rocks Amphitheater and EMBODY YOU, a workshop exploring body awareness and personal empowerment.
