Delta Air Lines announced plans to expand its New York-based Delta Shuttle service to the West Coast. The carrier will launch hourly, non-stop Delta Shuttle service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) from Sept. 3. Service will depart at the top of the hour from 7 a.m. Monday–Friday and be operated by Delta Connection partner Compass Airlines with E-175 aircraft, featuring 12 seats in first class, 12 in premium economy and 52 in economy. Shuttle routes will offer dedicated check-in counters and check-in as close as 30 minutes prior to departure. “Our new Delta Shuttle on the West Coast is designed to make doing business between Los Angeles and San Francisco easier. And with a product that’s tailored to California, we’re also making business travel more enjoyable and productive,” said Tim Mapes, senior vice president of marketing for Delta. “With our growth in Los Angeles, our ongoing investments to transform Terminal 5 and the introduction of more convenient schedules, we’re listening carefully to customers and doing everything possible to give them the experience they want from Delta.” The airline currently operates shuttle service on eastern routes between New York LaGuardia (LGA) and Boston (BOS), Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Washington Reagan National (DCA).
