Delta Air Lines led the biggest U.S. network airlines in on-time arrivals in 2012, according to the latest data from the Transportation Department. From January to November, 86.64 percent of Delta’s flights arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival times. Data shows 2012 was a successful year for the 15 carriers that provide data to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics on their on-time arrivals, cancellations and mishandled bags: 82.32 percent of flights were on time during the first 11 months, compared with 79.2 percent the same period of the year before; only 1.27 percent of flights were canceled, compared with 2.01; and three bags per every 1,000 passengers were mishandled, compared with 3.36.
