Delta Air Lines said goodbye to branded peanuts and pretzels yesterday, and is saying hello to its improved onboard lineup. The airline is unveiling its new snack lineup, which includes Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels, Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts and NatureBox Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Bars. Delta is keeping its beloved signature Biscoff cookies.
The trade will provide guests with larger portions and more variety, while supporting Delta’s missions to invest in overall on-board experience. The Main Cabin snacks will be refreshed more frequently based on direct customer feedback as the upgrade is a result of positive customer and employee feedback from earlier this year.
“We know our customers love pretzels and nuts, but we also know they crave more choices and larger portions which is why we’re upgrading their snacking options onboard,” said Allison Ausband, senior vice president in-flight service, Delta Air Lines. “Nearly all of Delta’s 180 million customers enjoy our snack offerings each year, which is why, in the future, we’re also going to look at ways to let them help choose our next lineup.”
The complimentary snacks are available in main cabin flights more than 250 miles. Customers on shorter domestic flights, from 251 to 599 miles, will now receive a choice of Biscoff cookies or Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels. Flights more than 600 miles will have the option to select from four choices instead of three: Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels, Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts, a NatureBox Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Bar or Biscoff cookies. Those traveling internationally will receive a choice of Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels or Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts.
To celebrate the unveiling of the new snacks, Delta set up complimentary sample vending machines in Los Angeles, Seattle and New York for customers to try. The snacks complement the enhancements Delta announced like upgraded blankets, complimentary beer, wine and spirits, and sleep kits.
