Vancouver International Airport celebrated the inaugural flight of China Eastern’s non-stop service to Nanjing (NKG), China, the only airport to offer the service.
The new year-round service will operate three times a week to Nanjing Lukou International Airport, connecting YVR’s passengers with China Eastern’s network, which includes 128 connections in China.
“We want to thank our long-standing partner, China Eastern, for choosing YVR to introduce this new connection between Vancouver and Nanjing, a renowned Chinese historical epicenter and a key economic hub,” said Craig Richmond, president and CEO, YVR. “This is another exciting first for YVR — offering passengers the only non-stop access to Nanjing in all of Canada.”
China Eastern has been operating at YVR for 12 years with service to Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), and a service to Kunming (KMG), one of China’s key connecting hubs. The new service will fly non-stop to Nanjing and then carry on to Kunming.
The new service will operate using an Airbus A330-200 on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday arriving at YVR at 8:30 a.m. and leaving at 10:30 a.m.
