Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta will launch a new experience combining Mexican arts and crafts with Mexican food and drink tastings. The experience will appear as a street fair setup on the ocean, welcoming guests to explore the different foods and drinks of the region. Guests also have the opportunity to learn about and make different crafts from a Mexican artisan.

Some of the Mexican street food featured will include Zarandeado fish and Embarazado shrimp, both often cooked over open coals. Tacos made with Birria, a Mexican stew made of chili pepper-based goat meat, adobo, garlic, cumin and other seasonings, will also make an appearance.

No guest can fully enjoy these delicious foods without some refreshing drinks in hand. Complementing the food menu, cocktails made with tequila, raicilla, mezcal and non-alcoholic options like Mexican hot chocolate and agua frescas will be offered.

During the arts and crafts portions, the resort’s artisans will lead sessions in painting ancestral calavera, also known as “sugar skull,” and in beading bracelets. The experience serves as part of Velas Vallarta’s rotating schedule of complimentary dining offerings and entertainment activities for guests.
