Following a two-year transformation, Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, in Baden-Baden, Germany, recently reopened its doors. Located at the gateway to the Black Forest, Brenners is once again ready to welcome guests.
“Brenners has always stood for refined individuality,” said Timo Gruenert, CEO, Oetker Hotels, of which Brenners is part. “With this renovation, we haven’t just refreshed a hotel – we’ve reignited its spirit. This new chapter reflects our belief that true luxury today is harnessed in our core values: family spirit, elegance, and genuine kindness.”
Countess Bergit Douglas of MM Design, daughter of Rudolf-August Oetker, led the renovation. With more than 27 unique room concepts across the hotel’s guestrooms and suites, no two accommodations are alike. The interior design draws inspiration from 19th-century Beaux-Arts glamour and English boldness with patterned textiles, antique writing desks and custom-made chests sourced from local artisans. Fabrics and wallcoverings add layers of warmth and texture, and color palettes range from corals and powder blues to forest greens and ivory creams. Bathrooms feature sleek marble with modern lighting and artisan-crafted fixtures. On the fifth floor, newly created rooms and suites cater to families and longer stays with more connecting room options. Historic details, such as 19th-century wooden beams, have been preserved and revealed for the first time.
At the heart of the renewed Brenners experience is Brenners Spa & Wellbeing, with a philosophy focused on championing balance and beauty as a lifestyle, not a luxury. At Brenners Medical Care, diagnostics and personalized health programs unfold in a grand hotel setting. Guests are never patients, but individuals seeking lasting wellbeing, guided by leading German physicians.
“This is not just a reopening – it’s a renaissance,” said Stephan Boesch, managing director, Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa. “We’ve honoured Brenners’ remarkable heritage while creating a deeply personal, refined experience that reflects how people want to travel and live today – surrounded by beauty, nature, and meaning.”
As a hotel deeply rooted in the Black Forest, Brenners’ renovation placed corporate social responsibility at the heart of its transformation, from upcycling historic wallpapers and fabrics into notebooks, cushion covers and bookmarks, to the careful preservation of century-old bricks and wood. Regional and sustainable materials were consciously chosen wherever possible and innovative heating and cooling technologies powered by regional district heating further reduce the property’s footprint.
Brenners is also a gateway to culture and nature, from private access to Festspielhaus and Frieder Burda Museum to mountaintop yoga, vineyard picnics and horse races at Iffezheim.
