It’s been about a week-and-a-half since I have become one of the newest additions to the Global Traveler team. I couldn’t be more excited! After graduating college May 2009, I spent a little over a year dealing with the constant worries and thoughts of where I would end up in my career. While the economy certainly did not help with my situation, I still knew I didn’t want to just settle for any job I was offered. I have always felt strongly about loving what you do and being happy with your career. Who wants to live a life going into work every day and not enjoying what you do? Unfortunately, I think many people do this every day, and I was sure that I wasn’t going to be one of them. When I came across the GT job posting at the end of June, I knew I had found what I was looking for. Around the same time a year prior, I remember sitting down and writing a list of my most-desired jobs. And, wouldn’t you know, one of my top choices was working for a travel magazine! I do believe things fall into place the way you would like them to, but it just takes some time. Now that a year has passed and I have just begun my first “real” job, I feel it was well worth the wait. I am enjoying the holiday weekend in Avalon, New Jersey, with my friends. While I am sad to see summer end, I am looking forward to fall beginning and all that is ahead at GT! — Olivia Falcione, account executive
