On my regular scroll through my Instagram feed this week, a post from @EtihadAirways caught my attention. A selfie (or, in their words, a “crewfie”) was posted of two lovely Etihad flight attendants showing off their new chic and stylish cabin uniforms. The airline recently rolled out the new uniforms at the end of the year, and I must say, I am a big fan. While I can’t say from personal experience, I know in the “good ol’ days” travel embodied a sense of sophistication and glamour, whether it be the cabin crews or the travelers themselves. Etihad’s in-flight couture is bringing that experience back! The uniforms have a classic, chic look inspired by the haute couture of 1960s Rome and Paris. In comparison to most modern airline cabin crews, Etihad’s uniforms are surely making a statement. The uniforms incorporate the colors of Etihad’s brand palette, with dark brown, purple and orange. I personally like the silk scarfs worn by the female flight attendants, a perfect accessory to their fitted skirt suits that adds a pop of color to the outfit. I love the retro looks of the hats as well, inspired by the iconic stars of Hollywood’s silver screen. The uniforms resemble the polished fashion of cabin crews of the past. I admire the airline for taking the initiative to bring back the luxury and glamour of travel and to step away from today’s travel norms.
