A couple weeks ago entertainer Tiffany was my Talking Travel interview guest. Last weekend I reconnected with her as she, along with fellow pop icon Sheena Easton, put on a fantastic show at Des Plaines Theatre.
The night started with a special meet-and-greet with Tiffany in an upstairs room. Tiffany regaled a small group of fans with a few stories and updates on her latest and future endeavors, including a cook book and a dining experience tour. Needless to say, I will be at either of those events if they take place near me. Tiffany was incredibly engaging and sweet, especially as she wished a happy birthday to my friend Tony.
Tiffany introduced David Gingras of Bean’s Hot Sauce Company, who is partnering with Tiffany on Let’s Food with Tiffany. Gingras had his sauces available for tasting and purchase, with a portion of the proceeds from October going to the Children’s Miracle Network. Great sauces and a wonderful cause is a winning combination.
After photos and a bit more chatting, we headed down to our seats. Soon Tiffany took the stage, greeted by a standing ovation as she began singing. After more than forty years of singing professionally, Tiffany’s voice was strong and, dare I say, sounded better than ever. Tony and I agreed her voice has more depth and richness now.

After a short break, Sheena Easton started her set. An unexpected awesome surprise was Brandon Nix, who performed a few duets with Easton. While Easton sounded great on her own, there was extra magic when they sang together.

Prior to the performances, I was more of a Tiffany fan, while Tony leaned more towards Easton. After the show, we both raved about both of the women and Nix, too!
Much like Arcada Theatre, also owned by Ron Onesti, in St. Charles, Des Plaines Theatre is a fantastic venue for music. Built in 1925, Des Plaines Theatre was originally a vaudeville and movie venue. After a fire ravaged it in 1982, periods of inactivity followed until three years of renovation were completed in 2021. It has wonderful acoustics and great sight lines. It is a perfect combination of classic and modern.
