Earlier in December, I attended the 2015 GT Tested Reader Survey awards, hosted each year at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. It was my first time staying at the property, and I definitely had a wonderful experience.

I checked in midafternoon, finding the front desk staff both helpful and friendly. As I only had a small carry-on, I headed to my room by myself, with the hotel quite easy to find my way around. My room was large, more similar in size to a suite than a guestroom, with a lot of space for the desk area and armchair with matching ottoman. I enjoyed a few of the complimentary welcome chocolates while exploring the rest of the space, and I was delighted to see the pillowcase was embroidered with my initials — a lovely touch. As a fan of long baths, my favorite part of the guestroom was the large soaking tub, accompanied by a separate standing shower. I immediately rationalized a good soak was exactly what I needed after my long flight and before dinner.

Getting ready to go out was a breeze with the great lighting and multiple large mirrors throughout the entire space. I appreciated being able to turn the television to a music station in the bedroom and enjoyed listening to the speakers in the bathroom. Courtesy of the complimentary WiFi (which every hotel should have), I answered some emails before heading out for the evening, and when I returned, I found the bed turned down and a bedside drink waiting for me. During my visit, I also had the pleasure of dining at The Roof Garden and grabbing drinks and appetizers at the Club Bar; both were enjoyable experiences.

I’m already looking forward to my next stay at The Peninsula Beverly Hills, a beautiful luxury property offering all the special touches that make a great travel experience.
