Global Traveler is Montenapo’s newest number-one fan!  On Tuesday evening, Alex Young and I attended Montenapo’s Food and Wine tasting.  The purpose of the event was to introduce Montenapo to hotel concierges as the newest restaurant in Manhattan’s theater district. I’d love to comment on the tasty menu we enjoyed, but I must mention one thing — TOW.  The acronym stands for Tall Outstanding Women.  Indeed, these women are tall.  Outstanding?  Well, I wasn’t able to talk to any of them, but they certainly stood out.   Organized by an Italian “career consultant,” Stefano Spadoni, the purpose of TOW is to promote events and charities.   All 12 women are six feet or taller — and they wear six-inch heels! At first, the idea seemed quite silly to me.   But after I noticed TOW was the most popular subject at our table, I realized Stefano had a smart idea.  A tall woman will grab anyone’s attention, but 12 women over six feet will steal the entire show.  After all, it is the subject of my blog! Of course this was the one night I opted to wear flats.  Standing 5’3,” I felt like a hobbit around these women. But their purpose is well-intentioned.   I wonder how much money they have squeezed out of imprudent businessmen during charity auctions! With or without TOW, Alex and I had a great night.   Tall Outstanding Women can only hold your attention for so long when your table is filled with an assortment of delicious desserts! –Courtney Centeno, account executive
