The past three days seem to have made the start of spring official! It is hard to sit still at the office when the sun is shining brightly through the windows, birds are chirping, people are wandering outside and everywhere you look, you see the flowers starting to bloom. To me, it is truly wonderful to see spring. It changes your outlook completely as the weather starts to warm up. It is much easier getting up in the morning when you know it will not be freezing cold. I find myself to be more efficient because I want to get done whatever is keeping me inside and get out and enjoy the weather. People seem much happier because the weather is beautiful and they are not cooped up inside all day. Spring is a rebirth of good moods! Just last night, I opted to take my puppy for a walk in the local park instead of suffering through a workout at the stuffy gym! Both the puppy and myself benefitted from the fresh air. My favorite things about spring are flip flops (which I will wear religiously until it gets cold again), driving my car with the sunroof open, windows down and favorite songs playing, sleeping with the windows open at night and enjoying the breeze, seeing so many people outside and smiling, flowers, sitting outside to eat or read or have a cocktail and being able to wear a sweatshirt or other lightweight outerwear at night and not be cold. So as temperatures near 80 here in Pennsylvania, I find myself hoping we do not skip spring entirely and head right into summer.
