It’s been a few weeks since New Year’s Eve, but I started off the year doing something different, so I thought I’d share. Typically, New Year’s Eve is uneventful, but this year my friends and I decided to do something different; and with just a few days of planning, we organized rides, accommodations and tickets for the Glitter City Gala, an annual New Year’s Eve event held at Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center. The night was fun; with 1,800 people at the event, there was a lot going on. They had food buffets and bars everywhere, a big dance floor and a projection screen where they showed the ball drop — my favorite part of New Year’s Eve. It was something different, and I think the change of pace helped me start off 2011 on the right foot. The National Constitution Center is also a great place to visit on any trip to Philadelphia. It’s informative but in a unique and cool way. My favorite part of the museum is the room where they have life-size statues of all the signers of the Constitution. And having the party there was different and special. All in all, a good start to the year. If I may offer a suggestion for the next New Year, do something different.
